Bank certificate no longer required when extending residence permit in Latvia

Bank reference no longer required when extending residence permit in Latvia

Previously, when renewing a residence permit annually, it was necessary to provide a bank certificate.

It could be from a bank in your country, for example, from Russia, or from a Latvian bank.

For a property owner 15,480 euros, for a spouse 5,160 euros, for each minor child 3,096 euros.

Obtaining a certificate was inconvenient because there were many requirements for its preparation. It had to have a bank stamp and signature, with the account holder's name and surname indicated. The money had to be held in a current account, not a savings account, and so on.

However, with the aim of protecting personal data, from March of this year, a certificate is no longer required.

You no longer need to provide it, and it does not affect the residence permit registration process in any way.

Thus, residence permit registration has become even easier!
