What should you do if you have submitted residence permit documents, received a positive decision, and want to pick up your cards?
As of early August, the situation is as follows.
If you managed to submit documents in Latvia and had your photos taken, then your cards can be picked up at the embassy. If you live in Russia, you will need to write a special application to the department, and then the department will send your cards to the Embassy of Latvia in Moscow.
The embassy will begin operations when the number of virus cases does not exceed 16 per 100,000 people.
When the embassy opens, you will be able to pick up your ID cards.
If you submitted documents online, then you need to wait for the embassy to open. Then you obtain a D visa. After receiving the visa, you come to Latvia and get your ID cards.
In any case, the deadline for receiving cards has been extended until December 31st of this year.
