We would like to share an interesting situation with you.
A family of three submitted documents for annual residence permit registration: two adults and a child. All family members have different circumstances.
The wife and child live permanently in Latvia and do not plan to move away.
The husband works in Russia and needed to return to work as soon as possible.
Therefore, the question arose: is it possible to choose different processing timeframes? The husband - under the expedited program. And the child and wife - under the standard program.
It turns out this is possible. But there are some nuances.
First, only the property owner can choose the expedited processing timeframe.
The reverse situation is not possible. You cannot choose a longer timeframe for the "principal," i.e., the property owner, and a shorter timeframe for the other family members.
In such cases, if different processing timeframes are chosen, the "investor" receives their card first. The other family members receive their cards later.
Second, the expiration date of the new cards for everyone will be the same.
Example from our client. For the investor - card ready on February 16. For the wife and child - March 16. The expiration date for everyone will be the same: February 16 of the following year.
