Many of our company's clients are wondering whether the residence permit renewal procedure has changed.
We would like to draw your attention to some important details.
The document submission process has not changed. One option is to submit documents in paper form (documents are sent to the department by mail or courier).
The second option is to submit documents electronically. This cannot be done through the state services website (Latvija.lv). However, if you have an electronic signature, you can apply this "digital signature" to all documents and send them to any office of the Department of Citizenship and Migration by email.
The document package has not changed. This includes applications for all family members, passport copies (all pages), proof of real estate tax payment, and a receipt confirming payment of state fees. For annual residence permit registration, no additional documents are required.
A bank statement is not required (for annual renewal).
When renewing a residence permit for the next five years (for citizens of all countries except Russia and Belarus), please note that the amount of subsistence funds has increased.
Starting January 1st, the minimum wage in Latvia increased (620 euros per month).
That is, the amount for a real estate owner is 22,320 euros (620 EUR * 3 * 12), for a spouse 7,440 euros (620 EUR * 12), for each minor child 4,464 euros (60% of 7,440 euros).
