Filing a Declaration - Rental Income

If you are renting out real estate, you can already submit an annual declaration.

Submission deadlines - from March 1st to June 1st. If income exceeds 62,800 euros, submission deadlines are from April 1st to July 1st.

The most convenient option is submission at the tax office. Website for connection: https://eds.vid.gov.lv/login/#

If you are renting out real estate, you first need to check a box and fill in Appendix D1 -1:

"income received in the tax year to which the annual differentiated non-taxable minimum and benefits do not apply".

You must fill in section 1a (tenant's personal code), 1b (tenant's name and surname), income category 06 (income from renting out real estate),

5 (expenses - that is, the amount of property tax), 7 (rate in percentage, 10%). The system will calculate the tax amount automatically.

Then, on the main page you need to mark "primary declaration" and attach two documents - property tax and payment receipt.

The final step is filling in the contact information and submitting the declaration.

Second option - submission in paper form (by sending a letter to the tax authority address).

After submission, you must pay the tax. Payment deadline - by June 27, 2022.

If the tax amount exceeds 640 euros, you can split it into three parts - by June 27, by July 25, and by August 23. You can also negotiate (in writing) with the tax authority regarding an individual tax payment schedule.
