Until March 2020, it was necessary to visit the department in person to submit documents for residence permit registration (renewal).
Then the pandemic made adjustments, and documents could be sent in paper form (by mail or courier), as well as submitted electronically (signed with a digital signature).
These rules are in effect until December 31. What will happen next year?
According to the Latvian Law on the Management of the Spread of Covid-19 Infection, nothing will change until June 30, 2022.
Documents can be sent to the department in paper form or submitted electronically.
