The specialist committee of the Saeima approved the New Immigration Law for first reading on December 8, 2021.
Deputies must submit their proposals by February 28, 2022.
Thus, the first consideration will take place no earlier than March. This will be followed by second and third readings.
If you are interested in purchasing real estate and obtaining a residence permit, you still have time! During this period, you can select a property, complete the transaction, and submit your residence permit documents!
Documents can be submitted at an embassy (for example, at the Latvian Embassy in Moscow), or in Latvia (by sending documents directly to the Department of Citizenship and Migration).
