Entry to Latvia for Russian Citizens

From July 12, Latvia introduces mandatory testing at border checkpoints with Russia.

Vaccination certificates or negative test results will not be sufficient. You will need to take an express test at the border.

We contacted the border service and found out the following.

- You will need to wait for test results (approximately 10-15 minutes)

- Only with a negative result will you be able to continue your journey.

- If coronavirus is detected, temporary residence permit holders will need to return to Russia.

Permanent residence permit holders will be transported by ambulance to their place of residence or to an accommodation facility. We remind you that Latvia has a list of hotels approved by the Latvian Investment and Development Agency where you can be in isolation.

Since entry rules change, we strongly recommend that you carefully check everything again immediately before your trip!
