Some clients ask - how can I renounce my residence permit? Travel to Latvia is currently difficult, and using the property for personal purposes is very challenging.
In our opinion, you should not renounce your residence permit. It is a more stable and long-term status compared to a visa.
However, if you decide to renounce your residence permit, you should understand - this does not happen automatically.
First, you need to contact the Embassy of Latvia in the country where you reside. At the embassy, you submit a special application and surrender your residence permit cards.
Within approximately 1-2 months, a decision is made and your residence permit is cancelled.
Second, you need to decide what to do with the property. If you keep the property, you will be able to obtain a Latvian "C" category visa (when it becomes possible).
If you decide to sell the property, we can help! For this, you only need to issue a power of attorney and send it to us.
We will determine the value, find a buyer, and complete the transaction online. You will be able to receive the sale proceeds to your bank account (for example, in a Russian bank).
In that case (after selling the property), you will have no grounds to obtain a Latvian visa.
