Within what timeframe do you need to come to Latvia to exchange cards if you already have a positive decision received in 2021?
On May 5th, the Latvian government decided that the department does not count the period from March 12, 2020 to December 31, 2021 as an overdue deadline for obtaining new cards.
That is, if you were unable to enter Latvia during this period, it is not considered a violation of the deadline for obtaining cards.
Since a residence permit card must be obtained within three months after the decision is made, this three-month period will start counting from December 31st (unless there is a new government order), and the final deadline for obtaining the card is March 31, 2022.
Therefore, you must come to Latvia and complete the residence permit card registration no later than March 31, 2022.
