Action plan for those who were unable to come to Latvia in 2020:

1) Those who are required to pay the one thousand euro fee in 2020 should preferably pay this fee by the end of December, 1000 (one thousand euros).

2) We wait for the next year 2021. WITHOUT obtaining the cards that could not be obtained in 2020, we submit documents for the next residence permit renewal, already until 2022.
When do we submit? Answer - closer to the deadline when your residence permit expires in 2021.

3) Next, we wait for the decision. When there is a positive decision, we plan your arrival in 2021.
Preliminary card collection in 2021 (WHICH WILL BE VALID UNTIL 2022) can be done by June 30, or by September 30, 2021. This is still being discussed, and these dates will depend on the COVID situation.

4) How will arrival in Latvia be organized in 2021?
ONLY BY VISA. There will be no other options. You need to understand that a visa can be issued when the epidemiological situation improves.
SUMMARY:
- Your residence permit will not be lost or cancelled if you were unable to come to Latvia in 2020.
- If this applies to you, you must pay the one thousand euro fee, preferably by December 31, 2020. IF YOU DON'T HAVE TIME - no problem, this can be done in January of the next year.
- Next year, we will remind our clients about submitting documents for registration, already for 2022.
- Next year, THE SAME PROCEDURE FOR SUBMITTING DOCUMENTS WILL APPLY. By mail (in paper form). OR ONLINE, through the LATVIJA.LV website
